Try adjusting the Carbs first. If you are like me they were adjusted back in the spring when air and raw water is much cooler. With the heat we have now in the Ohio Valley the Carbs are running a little lean. Try to richening up the idle screws(two on the carb) 1 half turn each and pick up the idle ...

I am in Louisville and shop at and have good luck with the NAPA distribution warehouse downtown on College Street. They have an actual Marine catalog with listings for Chrysler inboard marine stuff. I always opt for marine specific if possible and find that NAPA is not out of line on price. Good Luck!

You are right Barkleydave about the tachs. I think I did not reconnect the original ground wire back to the negitive side of the coil. The only ground wire connected to the coil now is from the new distributor. Next time will reconnect and see what happens.

Installed the distributors this weekend and wanted to share some first impressions.

Thanks for the information, my plan is to have the old distributors rebuilt. Do any of you know of a shop that does that kind of work(i.e. Marine distributors)
