Balthaus: Over the winter I rescued a 80lb Chow mix that I wasn't planning on keeping.. Well she turned out to be super sweet and a great family member so here I am in May picking her up and carrying her down the dock, up the stairs, step onto boat, up another step.. It's a recipe for disaster.. Im going to have to build a long ramp with a 90deg turn in it to the boat. Then some plank I can lift up and stow aboard.. She has to feel like its "regular" ground.. Anyhow. My other two dogs just jump right on.. Getting them off is another story but not as bad as her.. This may be a new thread.
Thanks
Sean

I think our shepherd will be fine at the dock....although your situation does sound dicey..at least for your back.
The large dog questions might be good for another thread.
Still considering a gangplank but I think I am leaning toward the accordion style ladder.
