I have a 32' sedan fb, the engines are raw water cooled. Do I need to install a confined cooling system or can I run with the fresh water system, if so what precautions do I need to take?

Boating in salt water with raw water cooling not a very good idea. You know salt and cast iron :!: If the boat has been in salt water since day one and the previous owner has not freshwater flushed the engines after each use you can probably scrap out them puppies. ;)
If it is new to salt water I would defiantly look at installing a closed system. There are a few available on websites. They ant cheap but neither are new engines :!:
They do make flushing kits for raw water cooled engines or you can make your own set up
